Heating Tune Up Checklist:

  1. Blower: Measure amperage and voltage

  2. Blower Motor: Measure amperage and voltage

  3. Burner: Brush clean and vacuum

  4. Combustion Prevention: Inspect for combustible material around furnace

  5. Combustion Vents: Inspect upper and lower vents and test for carbon monoxide

  6. Duct System: Inspect duct system

  7. Electrical Wiring: Inspect and and tighten as needed

  8. Exhaust System: Test for proper venting

  9. Exterior: Clean furnace exterior

  10. Fan Belt: Inspect and adjust tension (if applicable)

  11. Filter: Clean or replace (customer must supply)

  12. Gas Leak Test: For your safety

  13. Gas Pressure: Measure and adjust for peak efficiency

  14. Heat Exchanger: Brush clean and vacuum

  15. Heat Exchanger: Visually inspect for wear and cracks

  16. Ignition System: Test for safe and proper operation

  17. Moving Parts: Lubricate as needed, per manufacturer

  18. Supply/Return: Measure temperature difference

  19. Safety & Control Circuits: Test for proper operation

  20. Thermocouple: Clean and test for proper operation

Cooling Tune Up Checklist:

  1. Blower Belt: Inspect for proper operation

  2. Blower Motor: Inspect for proper function

  3. Capacitors: Inspect and test proper operation

  4. Condenser Coil: Rinse clean and remove any debris

  5. Compressor: Monitor amperage and volt draw

  6. Contactors: Inspect and test for proper operation

  7. Ductwork: Inspect for energy loss

  8. Electrical Disconnect: Inspect electrical box

  9. Electrical Wiring: Inspect and tighten as needed

  10. Electrical Wiring: Inspect for any exposed wires

  11. Fan Blade: Inspect for wear and cracks
